Trees are as much individuals as animals and people are.  I’ve had it in the back of my mind for a while to try doing some straightforward tree portraits, or even some not straightforward ones, as I roam around the forest here.

This is a start.  Nothing fancy, nothing dramatic, and not even, to tell you the truth, very interesting.  I have nowhere to go but up.  I believe there is a lot of up to explore, however, so I’ll be shooting plenty more of these and—who knows?—I might even get better.
