After years of shooting with Canon gear I switched in 2008 to Pentax.
Using Pentax in today’s world is a bit like driving an old Jaguar instead of a Ford Taurus. The Taurus is more reliable but the Jag is more fun, even if it doesn’t always run well.
I use a K-7 and K20D for digital, along with the 16-50 and 50-135 f/2.8 DA* lenses and the 12-24 f/4 zoom, as well as 21/3.2 and 70/2.4 Limited lenses, which are my favorites. I also have a Sigma 30/1.4, which is fine but heavy, and an FA 50/1.4, which for some reason hardly ever gets used.
For film, and I still shoot Tri-X, I have an LX and an MZ-S, the two best film cameras Pentax ever made, and an assortment of M lenses.
I also shoot with a Pentax 645, whose lenses — especially the A* 300/4 — can be used on my small digital bodies.
